220 - 280gsm - This is perhaps the most common weight used in cardmaking. Light enough to easily go through a printer and die-cutting machine, but sturdy enough for embossing.
The 80 lb card stock is the most common weight of card stock, and is used for DIY invitations, card making, scrapbooking, flyers, post cards, die-cutting, menus, craft projects, program, and business cards. If you are needing to fold the 80 lb cardstock, we would recommending scoring the stock before folding it.
A letter of 2 ounces – 1 Domestic Forever Stamp and one additional ounce stamp at 20 cents costs 78 cents.
You can assume an envelope of any shape and paper weight will weigh 0.1 to 0.5 ounces.
As the name suggests, Forever Stamps can be used to mail a one-ounce letter regardless of when the stamps are purchased or used and no matter how prices may change in the future. Forever Stamps are always sold at the same price as a regular First-Class Mail stamp.

Card and Acetate used for arts and crafts can be found to be of thicknesses of between 200 and 500 microns (0.2 and 0.5 millimetres). Card thicker than 500 microns is usually made by laminating two or more sheets of card together.
Typical playing card dimensions- Standard playing card decks are 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches (64mm X 89mm) and 0.17mm and 0.24mm thick. Bridge size playing cards come in at 2.25 inches by 3.5 inches (57mm X 89mm). Most cards have a weight of 280gsm (grams per square meter).
170 – 200gsm: This is the midway point between paper and card. It can be used for brochure covers and is great when used for more luxurious posters or quality double sided flyers. 250 – 300gsm: Moving away from paper, this is regarded as card (board) weights which can add a quality finish to a book if used as a cover.
Cardstock Weight
The higher the number (300gsm, 330gsm, 350gsm), the thicker and heavier the stock and card will be. Generally speaking, heavier cardstock gives your cards a higher quality feel.
General postage guidelines, based on product weight (within the contiguous United States): up to 1 ounce – $0.60. between 1 and 2 ounces – $0.75.

What weight is thick card?
Cardstock weight ranges from around 65 lbs (thinnest cardstock) to 110 lbs (thickest cardstock). Cardstock can also be measured by GSM (grams per square meter). GSM refers to the actual weight of the cardstock sheet itself.
How do you calculate paper weight? Since grammage is a unit of weight per unit of area, we have to multiply the paper's area by its grammage to find the paper sheet's weight.
